Senator Richardson Encourages Public Comment on Fairness in Girls’ Sports Legislation

January 26, 2026

Committee hearing to be held this Wednesday.

DOVER — Senate Bill 215, the Fairness in Girls’ Sports Act, sponsored by Senator Bryant Richardson (R – Seaford), will be considered by the Senate Education Committee on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

Senator Richardson is encouraging parents, student-athletes, and members of the public to speak up in support of protecting the integrity of Title IX, fairness in girls’ sports, and privacy in girls’ private spaces by offering public comment either in person or virtually.

“Girls deserve a level playing field where they can compete fairly and safely, and they deserve privacy in spaces where biological differences matter,” said Senator Richardson. “I strongly encourage Delawareans who share these concerns to make their voices heard.”

Additional information on the committee meeting and how to register to provide public comment is available on the General Assembly’s website, specifically via this link: https://legis.delaware.gov/MeetingNotice/33785
