The Senate Republican Caucus is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative professional to join our team as a Communications Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills to ensure the Caucus’s message is effectively conveyed to the public. This position reports directly to the Director of Communications.
The primary duties of the Communications Specialist include:
· Communication Strategy Execution: Assist in developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the Caucus’s public presence.
· Content Management: Help maintain and update web and social media content, ensuring timely and accurate communication across all platforms.
· Content Creation: Research, write, and edit content for distribution, including capturing and producing photos and videos. Attend events to take photos and document important activities.
· eNewsletter Production: Plan, write, and contribute content for monthly eNewsletters to keep the public and stakeholders informed.
· Talking Points Preparation: Prepare talking points for legislators, leadership, or the Chief of Staff to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
· Media Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, cabinet officials, federal and state agencies, interest groups, and lobbyists to enhance the Caucus’s communication efforts.
· Legislative Support: Provide staff support for legislative committees as needed and assist the policy and communication teams with additional duties.
Salary and Benefits: The communications specialist position has an annual salary of $52,648.22. The Senate also offers paid sick, annual leave, and parental leave time, public employee retirement benefits, and medical, vision, and dental benefits with an employee share.
